01 - 4 slices sandwich bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
→ Dairy
02 - 4 slices cheddar cheese
03 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
# Directions:
01 - Spread a thin, even layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface. Layer two slices of cheddar cheese on each unbuttered side. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up, forming two sandwiches.
03 - Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
04 - Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until bread is golden brown and cheese has melted.
05 - Remove sandwiches from the skillet, allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve immediately.
